Meet our team at Ironwood Dental Care

Sheena was born in Nottingham, England. She moved to Vancouver with her family at the age of three and has lived in Richmond ever since. Sheena completed her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of British Columbia.

Soon after graduation, Sheena envisioned Ironwood Dental Care as a place where dentistry would take place in a warm and caring atmosphere. In 1998, her dream came true when she took Ironwood Dental Care from conception to reality.

Sheena loves to practice dentistry and cherishes each opportunity to make a positive difference to her patients’ dental health. Furthermore, she is both passionate and committed to continued learning and maintaining her leadership role in modern dentistry. The most fulfilling part of practicing dentistry for Sheena is seeing her patients smile with renewed dental health and increased self-confidence.

Jasmin was born and raised in Vancouver. She attended UBC where she obtained her undergraduate degree in nutrition. After taking time off to travel and do research Jasmin return to UBC where she completed her doctorate of dental medicine (DMD). When she is not at work, she is mostly at the hockey rink with her 3 boys. She loves travelling and swimming.

Neelum was born and raised in the community of Steveston here in Richmond! Neelum completed her Bachelors degree in Anatomy and Cell Biology at McGill University before she returned back to Vancouver and completed her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University of British Columbia.

Neelum has a true passion for dentistry and enjoys the dynamic nature of dentistry, from the different people she meets to the challenges presented in each case. Neelum loves being able to ease people through an experience that many find difficult and help them to feel comfortable.

When Neelum isn’t at the office she enjoys spending time with her kids, watching football or hockey and curling up with a good book.

Ming was born in Hong Kong and raised in Richmond. He is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin. Ming first completed his Masters in Pharmacy at the University of British Columbia. After practicing for two years he went back to the University of British Columbia where he completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Ming began his early career in Fort St. John before relocating back to Richmond. 

During his spare time he enjoys trying new restaurants, hiking, and playing badminton.

Dr. Regiane Maluf joined the Ironwood Dental Care team in September of 2022. She has a passion for creating beautiful smiles in a comfortable dental setting. She pairs her expertise and her love of beauty to give her patients the advanced care they deserve.

Besides general dentistry, Dr. Maluf is great with surgical procedures, like wisdom teeth extraction, implants, and gum grafts. She also completed significant Invisalign-specific training to be able to help patients of all ages develop a healthy occlusal foundation.

Dr. Maluf studied Dentistry and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery in Brazil and successfully completed the NDEB Equivalency Process, passing all the exams on her first attempt. She is a firm believer in Continued Education, ensuring that her procedures follow the latest dental techniques with the most updated technology available.

When she is not in the office, Dr. Maluf loves traveling, reading, spending time with her husband, Bruno, watching movies, and cooking.

Karam began her career in dentistry as a front desk receptionist. After seven years, she decided to switch into a clinical role; she completed her diploma in Dental Hygiene in Toronto at Regency College of Dental Auxiliaries.

Karam enjoys the dynamic environment at Ironwood and you can see her at the front desk or providing dental cleanings. Karam’s passions include travelling and spending time with her growing family.

Reena was born and raised in the Lower Mainland. She completed her Diploma in Dental Hygiene at the University of the Fraser Valley, however, her desire to continue her education led her to go back to school to complete her Bachelor’s in Health Sciences and her Masters in Public Health in Epidemiology. 

Reena’s passion for learning also led to her desire to share her knowledge and she began teaching part time at the University of British Columbia. Reena chose a career in dentistry as she always saw herself in the healthcare field. Shortly after graduating, she began at Ironwood Dental, which fostered her passion for helping people while she learned to provide exceptional service. In her spare time, Reena enjoys swimming, reading, and travelling.

Aman was born in Vancouver but later grew up in Richmond. One of Aman’s greatest passions is helping to make a difference to people’s health; when deciding on a career path, dental hygiene was the perfect fit for her. Aman graduated from Yorkville College with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene. 

As a patient mother and wife, Aman provides her patients with quality care while also lending a listening ear to find out how she can be the best dental hygienist. Outside of work, Aman enjoys travelling and spending time with her family and friends.

Reena was born and raised on Vancouver Island. She graduated from the Canadian Institute of Dental Hygiene in 2011 and has been fortunate to work at Ironwood Dental, where she stays at the forefront of the latest technologies and advancements in dentistry. Reena is dedicated to continuous education, always striving to uphold the gold standards of digital and cosmetic dentistry.

As a hygienist and Digital Smile Designer, she works closely with Dr. Sheena Sood, combining their expertise in Digital Smile Design and cosmetic dentistry to help patients achieve their dream smiles and restore their confidence. In her spare time, Reena enjoys being a foodie, exercising, and travelling the world with her husband.

Raquel grew up in Vancouver although has spent time throughout BC for her schooling and work. She started in dentistry as a chair-side assistant and quickly realized her passion for this industry. Raquel made the switch to dental hygiene as she wanted to engage more with patients on a one-to-one basis and educate them about their oral health. 

Raquel graduated from Vancouver Island University in 2011 with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene. As a busy mom, Raquel spends much of her time with her son; in her spare time she enjoys running, sports and of course, travelling the world.

Karam was born in India and later moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. She had always wanted to pursue a career in dentistry and dental hygiene interested her the most. Karam brings her positive demeanor and energy to every appointment with her patients; her passion to provide dental services to her patients is evident in any interaction with her. 

Karam graduated from the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene in 2016 with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene. Karam spends free time exploring Vancouver, cooking and spending time with her family.

Lana graduated from the Vancouver Community College in 1998 as a Certified Dental Assistant. Lana pursued a career in dentistry and never looked back. Lana has great satisfaction coming to work everyday, being a part of a great team that helps patients to either care for their dental pain or achieve a beautiful smile. 

Eventually, Lana transitioned her role as a CDA to a front-desk receptionist and enjoys interacting with every patient that walks through the door. In her spare time, Lana enjoys running, reading, travelling and spending time with her family.

Samar moved to Canada from India, where she had worked in dental research. After moving to Canada she continued in dentistry by completing her CDA training but wasn’t sure if she had made the right choice. After working in the field she fell in love with her job; she particularly enjoys meeting new people and helping them, as well as facing new challenges. 

Samar’s greatest passion and achievement is her family, with whom she spends her spare time.

Florenta graduated as a Certified Dental Assistant from Vancouver Community College in 2013. Florenta’s passion for dentistry came from her love of going to the dentist and helping people; she strives to make individuals who are scared of the dentist have a pleasant and comfortable experience.

In Florenta’s spare time, she enjoys cooking new recipes for her family to enjoy as well as working out and general fitness.

Christine started her career in Dentistry in 2006 graduating from CDI college. Right away she knew this was the career for her. With a passion for oral health and helping others , this led her to further her education. Christine went on to graduate from the University of Fraser Valley with a prosthodontics designation in 2013, and an Orthodontics designation in 2021. Being a CDA is very rewarding to Christine. She loves to make people laugh and feel at ease. In her spare time, she lives her life to the fullest with family and friends.

Shayan was born in Pakistan and raised in the Lower Mainland, where his passion for the dental field began. He started his dental career in 2013, by becoming a Certified Dental Assistant. In 2023, Shayan transitioned to dental hygiene, earning his diploma from Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene.

He began his dental hygiene career at Ironwood Dental Care in 2023, where he feels fortunate to work with the latest technologies and innovations in dentistry.

Outside of work, he enjoys exploring the outdoors, cycling, spending time with friends and family, and staying active.

Neha is a dedicated hygiene assistant with a passion for patient care and dental health. She joined the team in 2021, and has worked side by side with our hygienist to ensure the best quality of work.

Outside of work, Neha enjoys spending time with her family and trying new experiences.
